So it's January and it's that time again. I love curling up and dreaming up the year ahead. I have had a word of the year for many years now and find them to be helpful, insightful and often transformative. Last year I shared on here about my word of the year for 2014 being practice and it led me to all sorts of places. The idea behind choosing practice was to focus on the small every day choices I make in my life and making the best choices I can.
2014 was a wonderful year for me.
I practised my photography and made beautiful photobooks for clients and for myself.
I started belly dancing, learnt and practiced a routine and performed it to a supportive audience before Christmas.
I practiced meditation in small doses and in different ways and have found that the best way for me to meditate at the moment is through mantra chanting and so I've been doing 21 (or more) chants a night most of the year.
I practiced gratitude and positivity in a big way by writing and sharing 15 positive things every day last year with a beautiful, supportive community on an app called coach.me. I love this community and this practice and intend to carry on this year too.
I practiced listening as it's a skill I feel I could improve on.
I practiced creating by completing The Artists Way again and joining in the 100 mandalas challenge. I practiced blogging by posting a blog post every month last year.
I practiced cycling, running and swimming and fundraising and completed my first sprint distance triathlon in 2 hours 6 minutes and raised money for Willow.
I practised budgeting and managing our finances better and I'm proud of how far we have come with our financial management. Life is so much easier when money flows better.
So yeah, all in all 2014 was a wonderful year for my wee family of creation and I.
And now we turn to face 2015. This year I take open with me.
I'd like to open my business to more clients.
I'd like to open up to a greater and greater financial well being.
I'd like to open my eyes, heart and mind to new ideas and other new concepts.
I'm signed up to participate in my next triathlon in June at Dinton Pastures again.
I'm still belly dancing with my friend and I'm open to seeing where it takes us.
I have nearly completed the 100 mandala challenge and am open to what is next.
One of my aims is to be more open about sharing my art and as a good start to that I participated in a community art project.

Can you spot my petal? (Hint it's my word of the year!) I'm so glad I was brave and accepted this challenge as the outcome is gorgeous and inspiring.
So I have lots of goals and dreams to fulfil in 2015 and open is already guiding me. I hope 2015 is a beautiful year for you. Xx
