Rather than hoping, wishing, and even praying for an outcome, allow your inner world to align with the idea that what you desire is feasible and on its way. Louise Hay
So it got me thinking about how I can tell the difference between those two internal states - one of wanting and the other of believing. How can I tell if I believe that amazing health and wealth and wellness are for me or if I am just hoping for these changes will happen for me and for other people I meet in the course of my life? And how do I create the certainty inside me that what I would like to happen is actually feasible for me and for other people?
I thought I would start by looking closely at the words Louise Hay chooses to use in this affirmation. Louise Hay is the queen of affirmations and teaches that your thoughts and words create your reality. I am certain that she didn't choose those words without careful consideration.
So reading it through again:
Rather than hoping, wishing, and even praying for an outcome, allow your inner world to align with the idea that what you desire is feasible and on its way. Louise Hay
So for me the meaning of the word feasible is foggiest. What does it really mean for something to be feasible?
This is the dictionary definition
Feasible
1. Possible and practical to do easily or conveniently.
2. Likely; probable.
From oxforddictionaries.com
Both definitions work in the sentence above and make it mean slightly different things but the way I interpret this affirmation is to mean that I need to see my vision as both of those things.
I find synonyms helpful when considering word meaning. So also from oxforddictionaries.com the synonyms for 'feasible' highlight that I need to see my desires and goals as:
practicable
practical
workable
achievable
attainable
realizable
viable
realistic
sensible
reasonable
within reason
within the bounds of possibility
likely
odds-on
expected
anticipated
predictable
foreseeable
presumed
credible
possible
Wow! That kind of explains it for me. If I have even the smallest doubts that my goals and desires are not feasible, those doubts will hold me back from achieving those goals and also from maintaining my goals once I do get there.
And what about align? How do I align my inner world with the feasibility of my desires?
These are some of the synonyms for align also from oxforddictionaries.com
join forces with, join up with, form an alliance with, link up with, go into league with, join fortunes with, ally, affiliate, associate, join, side, sympathize, unite, combine, team up, band together, cooperate, collaborate, throw in one's lot
So having dug around in the affirmation to make better sense of it I feel I can translate it into these terms:
Rather than hoping, wishing, and even praying for an outcome, allow your inner world to join forces with the idea that what you desire is practical, achievable and reasonable and on its way.
I think the way Louise Hay words her affirmation is more elegant and I think I'll create some art around it to display in my house to help it sink in. I have some big goals and anything that helps me accomplish them is good for me.
I hope this has been helpful for you today! I have enjoyed writing today's post because it feels so relevant to me right now!
